FEBRUARY UPDATE 2021

PURPLE – TO BE REVIEWED & CREATED AS A BESPOKE ADD-ON

• Age Gate restriction notice/confirmation box – Currently in place

• Customer Accounts (membership area) – With the inclusion of a ‘Sign Up Box’, this The function will allow customers to create their own account or log into their existing account – New customer’s that sign up would automatically receive a discount voucher. – Existing customers will be able to view their purchase history and re-order available products.
The up sales area (related products) would be geared up to offering products relating to their recent purchases i.e. a recent sale of a Pale Ale category would offer similar products e.g. You recently purchased product ‘A’, therefore you may like to try Product ‘D’ – With the option to add Product ‘D’ with a discount applied i.e. Add Product ‘D’ to your order and you will get it at half price!

* On signing up, the customer would have a 10% coupon automatically applied to their cart – at the same time a copy of the coupon would be e-mailed to the customer (for future use should they choose) – The sign up box would need to be edited / configured by the shop staff when new offers and incentives become available.

• A separate Admin log in will allow access to all customers accounts to review spending history (ideally analytics would also be included in the customer accounts admin area.

Delivery Zones – Free home delivery (over £29.99) (Essex Wide) – Free national shipping (over £55)
Various delivery zones (based on post codes) will apply various shipping costs according to the customer’s shipping address – This facility is essential and needs the ability to be updated frequently and with user friendly control. It is also essential that discounted products do not forfeit a free delivery i.e. when placing an order over £30.00 (to qualify for free delivery) and applying a 10% discount coupon (bringing the total to £27.00) this should not forfeit the Free Local Delivery.

• Customer incentives – It is imperative to encourage a spend increase, by way of offering loyalty schemes or discounts on total purchases i.e. ‘spend over £60 and receive 10% discount coupon – either at check-out or by way of an e-mail discount vouchers – ideally this should be automated. and not effect our local / national delivery price restrictions i.e. when spending over £55 to receive free local delivery – the customer should not lose out on their free delivery offer should the 10% discount take their total below the free delivery threshold.

• Customer Referral System – When a customer refers a friend, the customer will automatically receive a discount coupon when the friend makes a purchase (the friend will also receive an incentive discount on checkout) – TO BE CONFIRMED

• Delivery Schedule & Route Planning – For local deliveries (appx. 50 mile radius) Delivery drivers set off at scheduled times throughout the day, taking with them a batch of processed orders – The order list will show the driver the recommended delivery route, showing each delivery address in route order.

• Customer incentives – It is imperative to encourage a spend increase, by way of offering loyalty schemes or discounts on total purchases i.e. ‘spend over £60 and receive 10% discount coupon – either at check-out or by way of an e-mail discount vouchers – ideally this should be automated. and not effect our local / national delivery price restrictions i.e. when spending over £55 to receive free local delivery – the customer should not lose out on their free delivery offer should the 10% discount take their total below the free delivery threshold.

• Customer Referral System – When a customer refers a friend, the customer will automatically receive a discount coupon when the friend makes a purchase (the friend will also receive an incentive discount on checkout)

• Delivery Zones – Various delivery zones will apply various shipping costs according to the customer shipping address – This facility is essential and needs the ability to be updated frequently and with user friendly control.

• Delivery Schedule & Route Planning – For local deliveries (appx. 50 mile radius) Delivery drivers set off at scheduled times throughout the day, taking with them a batch of processed orders – The order list will show the driver the recommended delivery route, showing each delivery address in route order.

• Online Gift Vouchers – Currently we have an integrated app that allows customers to purchase Gift Vouchers with a choice of denominations and message option. Once purchased, a customised PDF voucher, including a message & discount code is sent to the recipient who will then forward on the voucher to their friend/relative for use within the online shop.

• Up-Sales of related products – The ability to manage ‘Related Products’ that will be suggested / offered to customers when browsing and at checkout.

Design to mimic: https://bishopnick.com/shop-2/ – The important aspect here is to retain/mimic the header elements, keeping the fonts, colours and style so as to give the impression the user has not left the original website – The footer element layout is not as essential but again the emphases is to mimic the design of the original website.

We won’t be able to get the design the same as what they currently have as it doesn’t work with our current category structure. In addition to this, it isn’t very user friendly what they currently have. We would recommend doing the category structure with picture click-throughs, similar to https://www.thefiresideshop.co.uk/Slight confusion from EKM.. My request was to mimic the design elements from our current website header & footer.. ie to include BN logo, red navigation bar using house fonts.. & black footer.. – Personally I do not see this as an issue and will follow up & confirm in the New Year

We can get an automated email sent out as soon as they sign up with a discount code, it just won’t be automatically applied on checkout. The pop-up box is fine, but we can include this on the website design as a design element.

Customer Account Log in – The ability for the customer to register / sign in to their own client area – this will show their current & previous orders.. we would also like the ability to add credits to their account under a customer loyalty scheme.

Yes, you can enable customer accounts on EKM and also have the ability to checkout as a guest. You can set up loyalty points and manually add them to customers accounts.

Customer Referral System – The ability to offer incentives to customers who are able to ‘Recommend A Friend’ – On recommending a friend, (with the incentive of a discount voucher) once the friend has competed a purchase, the original referrer will also receive a discount coupon – It is essential that this system will be easy to implement, manage and track all referrals.

It would be a case of manually creating a discount code and sending it to the customer to send to their friend. However, you can’t stop the actual original refer from using the discount code, so that is something to bare in mind. You will be able to see on the order when the discount is used and then you could send the original refer their unique discount code. – Not entirely sure why this is not part of EKM’s bolt-on products.. This type of system is obviously more complicated to create/manage as standard. – Will follow up..

New Offers & Promotions – The customer will need the ability to set up & manage offer/discounts for new promotions – User friendly control over Discounts, Coupons, Active/End Dates, Applying offers to Individual Products, Delivery Zones etc. is essential

Gift Vouchers – https://bishopnick.com/product/brewe-day-experience-gift-voucher-copy/ – Bishop Nick offer various Gift Vouchers via the website which allow the customer to choose a voucher nomination, the recipients name, e-mail & message to where the voucher will be sent.

You can enable this option, but you would need to manually send the voucher through email, which will work fine if they are doing an experience. However, if they want to use a gift voucher online, we don’t have a gift voucher feature, so this isn’t possible unless you create a discount code coupon and do it that way. The whole amount would need to be spent on the transaction. – Need to further explore EKM’s options.. Could possibly keep the Voucher order page open on the existing website?

Garments – https://bishopnick.com/product/mens-black-tee/ – Bishop Nick offer various garments with the ability for the customer to choose a garment type, size & quantity

Trade customers (Pub Landlords) will occasionally check currently available beers if they are existing customers or might look us up for more information if they’re not familiar with our stock and story. Bottle stockists might do the same.
 
Consumers will seek us out for more information, our address, our business hours, our story but most likely to see what we have available.
 
We put prices on our small pack beers for consumers but we don’t list trade prices.
 
The website needs to tie in with our overall brand positioning/tone of voice/design – high quality but playful and forward thinking without being too marketing heavy or complicated for the sector of our customer base who are more mature and traditional in outlook. We want to retain the ‘craft’ feel as opposed to it looking too glossy and corporate.
  • Consider reducing the number of tabs at the top with SHOP being most prominent and accessible.
  • Avoid duplication of beer listings on home page/shop page and beers page.
  • Pop up for immediate attention is useful and rolling home page slider with current headlines.
  • The shop needs consolidating so that the customer doesn’t have to scroll all the way down to the bottom for merchandise. It would make sense to group items. (probably by beer and then a list of options for that beer and then a further category for gifts/merchandise)
  • There needs to be ‘related items’ and up-selling for each item selected.
  • Descriptions as they stand are helpful.
  • Basket/cart to be more visible once you choose something. Icon too small at the top of the page. Continue shopping option to buy more needs to be obvious and easy to navigate.
  • Coupon entry field is fine and useful.
  • I had to talk a customer through the minipin/polypin earlier so that must be simplified (ie choosing which beer/when to deliver it etc…. bit complicated but if they were listed under beer headings that would make it a bit easier).
  • Consider Apple Pay options…?
  • Customer sign up prompt. Incentivise and prompt sign up to newsletter/make an account on home page after a few seconds and at the check out stage. Editable by us for changing incentives.
  • Purchase path geared towards account sign up first and foremost so regular customers are recognised and have an easier time of it for subsequent purchases.
  • Age question and responsible drinking message must be clear.
  • CRM – customer relationship management – tracking, notifications, managing expectations, loyalty schemes
  • Consider subscription option
